A Lifeline for Afghan Students and Researchers at Risk

Are you an Afghan student or researcher whose access to higher education has been threatened because of political persecution or similar circumstances?

The DAAD Hilde Domin Programme supports students and researchers who are unable to continue their academic careers in their home countries due to serious risks. The programme enables eligible candidates to pursue their studies or research at German universities in a safe academic environment. (daad.de)

Please note that applications are generally submitted through a nomination by a German university or an eligible partner organization. Direct individual applications are usually not accepted, so it is important to learn about the nomination process before applying.

For many young Afghans facing barriers to education, this programme represents a legal, safe, and dignified pathway to continue their academic journey. Rather than risking dangerous and irregular migration routes, explore opportunities that protect both your future and your education.

Please share this opportunity with Afghan students, researchers, universities, and organizations that may be able to support eligible candidates.
